Dr.
Abdulhafeez Hafazalla is architect/ planner, who worked over thirty four years,
first as a
lecturer and later
as an assistant professor
in the department of urban and regional planning, faculty of environmental
design. He holds B.Sc. and
M.Sc.
degrees in architecture and physical planning from the University of Khartoum,
Sudan, and a PhD from the School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape,
University of Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, in 2006. Dr.
Hafazalla earned a deep experience in teaching a wide range of theory courses
and all studio courses in the planning department. He participated in or undertook a number of
architectural design and large planning projects in Saudi Arabia and
Sudan. Dr. Hafazalla works included
published articles and research on housing and human settlements development
policies with particular emphasis on Khartoum. He is an active member in a
number of specialized departmental committees and member of some professional
associations. Dr. Hafazalla possesses a deep understanding and knowledge on the
urban and regional planning career and profession and a vision of how our
cities and living environment can be improved and developed. Dr Hafazalla is
currently involved in a
research work about the development of Khartoum City, department
curriculum development and academic accreditation activities.
Personal believes:
I believe I possess a deep understanding of the urban and regional planning problems, dimensions, and issues and possess the skills, tools and the know-how to methodically deal with them and design their projects.
I believe, if we possess a strong will we can perfectly shape our social, economic and urban living environment what so ever they are complicated.
I believe that holding to the righteous ethical conduct is a key to success and gives happiness, satisfaction and better quality of life to all and, undoubtedly, the praise of Allah.
I believe that a person is valued by the assistance he gives to others, and helping those in need brings happiness, self-satisfaction and added value to the whole society.
I strongly believe, that gaining knowledge and expertise and contribution to the knowledge is a ceaseless activity, and unrevealing of gained knowledge is an unforgivable crime to humanity.
